BOAT POLICY: Some companies let you endorse your boat and watercraft liability from your homeowners policy. When this is not an option, you will need a boat policy, which covers the watercraft liability and the physical damage of the boat, motor and trailer if needed.
BODILY INJURY LIABILITY: This covers other people's bodily injuries or death for which you are responsible for. Claims for bodily injury include, medical bills, loss of income, pain and suffering. Bodily injury does NOT cover you or other people on your policy.
PROPERTY DAMAGE LIABILITY: This covers you if your boat damages someone else's property, for example, another boat or dock.
UNINSURED BOATERS COVERAGE: This covers you, the insured members of the household and your passengers for bodily injuries, damage, or death caused by an at fault uninsured boater. If the other boater has no insurance, you policy will cover medical expenses, up to the limit on your policy.
UNDERINSURED BOATERS COVERAGE: This covers you, the insured members of the household and your passengers for bodily injuries, damage, or death caused by a person with insufficient insurance. If the other boater has insufficient insurance, your policy will meet the difference up to the limit on your policy.
COMPREHENSIVE COVERAGE: This covers your boat for losses resulting from incidents other than collision. It covers damages to your boat if it is stolen, fire and hail. It pays to fix your boat less the deductible you choose.
COLLISION COVERAGE: This covers damage to your vehicle when your boat hits an object or another boat. It pays to fix your boat less the deductible you choose.
EQUIPMENT COVERAGE: Coverage for fishing equipment, for example, fishing poles, depth finders and life jackets to name just a few.
ON-WATER TOWING: Coverage to help you get back to dry land.
ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE: This is a reimbursement for towing and labor for covered emergencies.
